Young Guys Wear Expensive Loafers Too!

I frequently see young guys wearing loafers but it is rare that I spot one wearing Aldens, much less two!  Since Aldens are not cheap, I can't help but wonder what makes someone in their twenties decide to wear them. Are they from upper crusty stock? Are they dressing for the job they want by emulating their older, more experienced superiors in the office? Or do they just think they look good?

I was especially intrigued by these two. Aldens are made in New England and these guys are in Boston so that could have something to do with it. I wonder what their story is...

And since we're asking questions...

Q: Could there be anything better than spotting two twentysomething cuties wearing Alden tassel loafers?

A: Yes! One going sockless, and the other having heels slipping out of his very loose loafers.

Q: Could there be anything better than the above?

A: If you like video, then yes!

  2. Hey Todd, there is a growing trend across the men's fashion industry to go back to classic styles. Long timers such as Brooks Brothers, Johnston & Murphy and Allen Edmonds to name a few, are heavily targeting young demographics. Designers such as Hugo Boss, Dolce & Gabama, and many others are going back to the styles we love. Brogues are supper hot right now! That makes me happy! Young men learning to dress like gentlemen is a great thing! So do not be surprise to see a growing number of fashion conscious young hot hipsters hiring the streets on hot loafers! Yummm! Great shots.

  3. All I know is, the more people wearing classic shoes/loafers like these, the better. :)

  4. These two are definitely hot, but not the norm even for Boston. It looks like they're dressed a bit casually for work. Maybe they're Harvard students. Todd, when were you in Boston?

  6. What does 'preppy' mean? I've often wondered.....
    (From England.........)

  7. For men, preppy means colorful khaki shorts or pants, dress shirt, Rainbow brand flip flops or dress shoes and/or loafers, ray-ban sunglasses with attached head strap. Think Ralph Lauren or Brooks Brothers catalog.

  8. Enjoyed seeing both but I seemed to be drawn to the tassled loafers with no socks, very hot indeed.

  9. The loose loafers do it for me! Makes you wonder if maybe they're not his. He could be wearing his dad's, his older brother's, his roommate's (maybe they even belong to the guy he's walking with!) I like the idea that he likes those loafers so much, he couldn't help "borrowing" them from their rightful owner.

Or maybe he's just a like-minded shoe-lovin' guy like us, who enjoys playing with his shoes, and bought them in a bigger size so they'd be easy to slip out of! Either way, he's a hottie!

    1. I think you're right in thinking he's a shoe-lovin' guy! Those look definitely a size too big for him. You know he's slipping out and playing with them the second he sits down. Would love to catch him and his pal seated at a restaurant - one with his feet arched out and the other dangling his loafer.
